TAZZELENGHE
D.O.C. COLLI ORIENTALI DEL FRIULI

Tazzelenghe has an intense red colour with violet tinges. The high tannin content and initial acidity have earned it the name of “Tacelenghe”, or "tongue-cutter". A hard, robust wine when young, Tazzelenghe mellows out in the wood and after a few years develops a delicious broad, velvet-smooth bouquet. An intriguing wine with a very distinctive character.

VINEYARD MAINTENANCE Grassed - not irrigated.
HARVESTING PERIOD Late October.
HARVESTING By hand in cases with bunch selection. Perfectly ripe grapes.
VINIFICATION Maceration on the skins for about fifteen days and fermentation at controlled temperatures between 25-28 °C.
AGEING In French oak barriques, 80% of which are new and 20% used for the second time, for 12/18 months, then in bottle for 2 years.
BOTTLES PRODUCED no. 2,000 bottles of 0,75 l
SERVING SUGGESTIONS Roast red meat, game, pork, lamb and mushrooms.
